Starters are used in internal combustion engines to start them under all operating and environmental conditions. The starter brings the engine to the required starting speed and supports start-up of the engine after the starting process until it runs completely by itself.

To start an internal combustion engine, two electromagnets of various strength acting in parallel are activated in the magnetic switch via an auxiliary relay when the ignition key is turned in the starter. The magnets move the starter pinion, which tightens a pressure spring in the magnetic switch. The pinion locks into the flywheel of the engine and the magnetic switch closes the contact to the starter motor and starts it. The starter motor armature accelerates the flywheel and thus the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine via a planetary gear and the pinion until it runs independently and the ignition key is released.

The starter 1.21760 meets the high-quality and safety standards of the automotive industry.

The starter can withstand extreme climatic conditions and covers an ambient temperature range from -30 °C to +60 °C. To ensure a long service life and optimal function, all the individual parts of the starter are made of high-quality materials. Markings on the housing make clear identification and traceability possible.
