With the new VIN check, Diesel Technic is expanding the functionality of its Partner Portal to include an important tool for the safe and efficient procurement of spare parts. Whilst registered users have been able to use the VIN search to identify vehicles within the Partner Portal for some time now, the new VIN check is now also available before logging in. Users can now use the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to check whether the selected OE number matches the vehicle in question. This reduces incorrect orders, minimises vehicle downtime and helps speed up repairs.
Finding the right part straight away
The increasing digitalisation of spare parts procurement places high demands on speed and accuracy. The VIN search function, which is already established on the Partner Portal, has long supported distribution partners in identifying vehicles. The new VIN check now extends this functionality: the compatibility of an OE number with a specific vehicle can be checked even before logging in and without registration. This benefits not only existing distribution partners, but also garages and other end customers who wish to quickly and easily check whether a spare part is the right fit before placing an order.
Fewer returns, reduced downtime
The new compatibility check provides greater certainty when selecting spare parts and helps to prevent incorrect orders. This reduces return rates, makes workshop processes more efficient and enables vehicles to be returned to service more quickly. This saves time and money throughout the entire supply and service chain.
Ongoing development of the Partner Portal
Since 2015, the Diesel Technic Partner Portal has served as an information and e-commerce platform, providing access to DT Spare Parts’ comprehensive range of over 50,000 products.
