A modern commercial vehicle transmission is characterized by precise and comfortable gear changing. The forcing in of the gears, once so familiar with manually operated transmissions is long a thing of the past. Modern commercial vehicle transmission systems with comfortable gear changing relieve the strain on the driver and thus contribute to passive safety.
Gear change operations are executed electropneumatically. Switching valves and adjustment devices on the gearbox are therefore necessary. These execute the gear change operation as determined by the driver, without the driver having to change gear himself. The driver does not need to carry out any mechanical work; he simply pre-selects the required gear and various valves and actuators execute the electronically-controlled gear change.

DT® brand solenoid valves consist of high-quality die-cast aluminium housing without cavities and with burr-free cut connecting threads. Additional stainless steel piston guide bushings with high quality surface and an extremely low level of roughness prevent premature wear of the O-rings on the master control pistons.

DT solenoid valves are equipped with a corrosion-resistant aluminium master control piston with very low surface roughness and high-quality, wear and temperature stable O-rings made of Viton. The piston is lubricated with high-performance, silicone-based grease.

An additional advantage is the solenoid coil with low power consumption, which avoids unacceptable heating, even in continuous switching operation. A lasting and reliable electrical connection is ensured by a silver-plated connection contact and M24x1 thread.
